A "do not drink" water notice will remain in place for the Horowhenua town of Tokomaru this weekend while testing continues

A "do not drink" water notice will remain in place for the Horowhenua town of Tokomaru this weekend while testing continues

The notice was issued on Wednesday, over high traces of lead.

Horowhenua District Council says people should use bottled water for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, preparing food, mixing baby formula, making ice, and giving water to pets.

But the water can still be used for bathing and washing.
