A new at-home testing kit that confirms a pregnancy has ended after a medical abortion is being funded by Pharmac from today

Urine test kit CheckToP detects the level of hormones in the body through a urine sample.

Pharmac spokesperson Alexandra Compton, says over 9,000 people will benefit from access to these tests in the first year.

She says people will be able to carry out the test where and when they like, helping increase the number of follow up tests, and reducing the need for follow-up blood tests.
