A push for greater access to a test, that could help catch life-threatening respiratory diseases

A push for greater access to a test, that could help catch life-threatening respiratory diseases

A group of 26 health professionals, is calling on the Government to improve access to and awareness of spirometry.

It's a test used to investigate the cause of symptoms such as breathlessness, coughing and wheezing, and is essential for diagnosing asthma.

Asthma and Respiratory Foundation Chief Executive Letitia Harding, says there's currently a lot of gaps.

She says access, training and awareness is disjointed across the country.
