An admission of the significant pressure on the health system

An admission of the significant pressure on the health system

The Government's adding 120 training spots for nurse practitioners specialising in primary care.

They can prescribe medicines, diagnose conditions - and carry out some work done by GPs.

Health Minister, Simeon Brown, says other than from the Public Service Association - he's had good feedback on recent announcements.

He says his focus is patients - not the unions.
