An Australian woman has given birth to a stranger's baby after an IVF mix up

An Australian woman has given birth to a stranger's baby after an IVF mix up

Monash IVF in Brisbane has confirmed an embryo was mistakenly thawed and implanted into the wrong person.

An investigation was launched after staff became aware of the problem in February.

The ABC's Will Murray says the clinic's confident it's an isolated incident.

He says Monash IVF has apologised and says it will support both sets of parents through a distressing time.
