    Newcastle football manager Eddie Howe is recovering from pneumonia in hospital


    The 47-year-old was absent from the dugout for yesterday's Premier League win over Manchester United.

    Howe has expressed his gratitude to the football community for their well wishes, via a statement.

    Assistant manager Jason Tindall is set to take charge for Newcastle's next two league matches against Crystal Palace on Thursday and Aston Villa on Sunday.
