Canterbury x-ray and scan health professionals are walking off the job next week

Canterbury x-ray and scan health professionals are walking off the job next week

Medical imaging technologists who're part of the Apex Union and work for the Canterbury District Health Board are striking for two 24-hour periods - on Monday and Wednesday next week.

CDHB chief medical officer, doctor Sue Nightingale, is apologising for delays stable patients may face.

She says anyone whose x-ray or scan needs re-booking - will be contacted by phone to reschedule.

Nightingale says patients urgently needing x-rays or scans may be taken to private providers.
