Barricades could be put up to stop children from seeing junk food advertising online

Barricades could be put up to stop children from seeing junk food advertising online

Health Minister, David Clark and Food Safety Minister, Damien O'Conner, have confirmed a raft of voluntary changes in junk food advertising.

The junk food industry and advertisers are considering the use of age verification systems - which are sometimes used by alcohol websites.

Advertising-free zones are also being proposed around primary and intermediate schools.

The Ministers also want to carry out a national children's nutrition survey - last done in 2002 - to understand what kids are eating.
