Life-saving cancer medications stay on waiting lists for years without funding

Life-saving cancer medications stay on waiting lists for years without funding

Pharmac has announced today it will finance a breast cancer medication Medsafe approved in 2004.

Breast Cancer Coalition Chairperson Libby Burgess says Pharmac's budget needs to be tripled.

She says the Government needs to understanding people with diseases are suffering without modern medicines.

New Zealand ranks 35 out of 36 OECD countries on medication spending per capita.
