Auckland's mayor is disappointed the city will stay at Level 3 for the rest of the week

The city will gradually move to Level 2 from Monday - with gatherings initially limited to 10 people.

Funerals and tangihanga will be allowed groups of 50.

Mayor Phil Goff says the extension means more sacrifice by Aucklanders - but it's necessary.

He says the city needs to all work together to beat the virus.

Goff says Aucklanders need to be responsible and patient for just a few more days.
