Around six thousand patients are set to benefit from Pharmac's latest round of consultation

It's looking to fund treatments for schizophrenia, iron deficiency, opioid-induced constipation and psoriasis .

The drugs would be available from November if approved.

Pharmac's Senior Therapeutic Group Manager, Alexandra Compton says the funding boost from the Government will cover cancer and non-cancer drugs.

She says Pharmac remains committed to funding more medicines for New Zealanders.
