    It's hoped an extra 27-million-dollars being invested into stem cell transplant services will reduce delays over time


    The extra investment by Health New Zealand was announced by the Health Minister yesterday.

    Simeon Brown says too many Kiwis face distressing delays for these life-saving procedures.

    Blood Cancer New Zealand Chief Executive, Tim Edmonds agrees, saying every patient deserves their chance at a cure without experiencing avoidable harm.

    He says it's distressing being told you have to wait for a stem-cell transplant which is effectively a life saving cure for patients.
