A 36-year-old widow, whose husband died in a workplace accident, has been given a second shock

A 36-year-old widow, whose husband died in a workplace accident, has been given a second shock

Jamie Min Ji has applied for support from ACC - and been informed there's no record of her late husband Bo Sun having any income.

Mr Sun died in a fall on a residential construction site in Silverdale last month.

His widow has applied for support from ACC, which normally pays up to 80 per cent of the deceased's earnings as loss of income support, but has been told there are no tax records of his earnings.

His employer told her he'd been "hired out" to another construction company which was running the work on the site where he fell.

That company is refusing to comment, saying the matter is under investigation by police and other authorities.

ACC says it's working on confirming details about Mr Sun's earnings, and in the meantime will pay a funeral grant, survivor's grant and weekly childcare payment.
