Sir Ron Brierley's case on child porn charges has been delayed, to allow detectives to pore through thousands of newly discovered images

Sir Ron Brierley's case on child porn charges has been delayed, to allow detectives to pore through thousands of newly discovered images

The 83-year-old Sydney-based businessman is charged with six counts of possessing child abuse material.

The New Zealand-born retired multi-millionaire was arrested by police last December, while trying to board a flight from Sydney to Fiji.

Police allege in court documents Brierley possessed photographs and videos of young girls and stories about the rape of children.

Prosecutors have successfully applied for an adjournment, with the matter due to return to court on September 17.
