    A grim memorial as Police mark the first Remembrance Day in 11 years where an officer has died on duty


    Constable Mathew Hunt was killed in June during a routine traffic stop in Auckland.

    It also comes just days after the death in London of Kiwi-born officer Matt Ratana.

    The day honours staff who've died as a result of their duties, as well as serving, retired and former Police staff who have passed away in the last 12 months.

    The national service is happening at the Police College in Porirua, while a number of local services will also be held across Aotearoa.

    A plaque honouring Hunt will be unveiled in a private ceremony at the Police College prior to the event.
