The Corrections Minister expects any prisoner found guilty of assault, to be held to account

The Corrections Minister expects any prisoner found guilty of assault, to be held to account

On the weekend one Paremoremo officer ended up in hospital after allegedly being attacked by a prisoner - last weekend it was an officer from Ngawha.

But Kelvin Davis says the number of serious assaults on staff managing some of the country's most dangerous people, has dropped slightly.

There were 18 in the last financial year, down from 29 the year before.
