    The body of a fisherman, reported missing last year, has been found


    Police have identified the body of John Planas - which washed up on a beach at Ponui Island, near Waiheke.

    The 33 year old Auckland resident did not return from kayak fishing in August last year.

    His family in the Phillippines have been informed and his death has been referred to the coroner.
