At least one of the men accused in relation to the Waikeria prison uprising is due to appear in the Auckland District Court today

The riot consumed the prison's high-security complex for six days, from December 29th.
Seventeen men are accused of deliberately starting the fire that extensively damaged the prison, among other charges.
The charge carries a maximum 14-year jail term.
The destruction of the prison's high-security complex required more than two-hundred inmates to be moved to other prisons.
