Former workers of a Dunedin bakery will finally see the total compensation owed to them

Former workers of a Dunedin bakery will finally see the total compensation owed to them

Anesly Joy Samuel, the former owner of Romeeco Bakery and Knox Cafe, was ordered to pay more than 390 thousand dollars after an investigation found he exploited workers.

In February, the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment told the Otago Daily Times Samuel had only paid 40 thousand dollars and it was taking enforcement action.

The man's property was later obtained to secure the debt.

Labour Inspectorate Southern regional manager Jeanie Borsboom says they've sold the property, leaving only 40 thousand to be paid.
