Police want information about a man who knocked out a 72-year-old Auckland train manager on a trip between New Lynn and Fruitvale two months ago

They say a man and woman began a verbal altercation in the carriage, before the man violently assaulted the worker - unprovoked - then got off at Fruitvale Station.

He was wearing a light-coloured T-shirt, and black shorts.
