Gun owners aren't seeking mental health help, out of worry their firearms could be stripped away

The Council of Licensed Firearms Owners says some GP's are alerting police when their clients mention depression or just feelings of sadness.

Its spokesman Hugh Devereux-Mack, says gun-owners are stuck choosing between help, or keeping their firearms.

He says most owners are already older, rural men who are reluctant to seek help.
