Hall was wrongfully convicted of murdering Arthur Easton in 1986 - and his 2022 acquittal led to the biggest compensation payout in New Zealand history.
Police Commissioner Andrew Coster says he's apologised on behalf of Police, for their role in his conviction.
Two police staff and a Crown prosecutor have been charged over the miscarriage of justice.
Hall's family says they accept the apology, and appreciate the Police work on these investigations.
