    Police in Palmerston North have apologised to residents who were displaced from their homes - or were frightened following a major operation last night


    Cordons have been lifted - in Highbury - as Police work to find a person of interest.

    Brentwood Avenue was blocked from about 5 o'clock - after a man pointed a gun at officers in the area last night.

    Manawatu Area Commander Inspector Ross Grantham is assuring the public the operation was necessary - however he says police are still working to locate their person of interest.
