    A woman's appearing in court today on a murder charge after a death in Bay of Plenty


    Emergency services were called to a property on State Highway 30 in Awakeri yesterday afternoon, after reports of a serious assault.

    Police say despite medical attention an injured woman died at the scene, and another person was taken into custody.

    The 25-year-old is due to appear in Whakatane District Court today.
