    Auckland police are trying to piece together what happened before the double homicide of a father and son


    They believe a house fire in Bucklands Beach last Thursday was deliberately lit - with evidence of an accelerant on the property.

    Three people escaped the blaze - including the mother, her other son, and a boarder.

    Detective Inspector Tofilau Faamanuia Vaaelua says they're trying to track down anyone responsible.

    He says investigators are canvassing the area and collating CCTV footage.
