New Zealand drivers appear to be more confident on the roads - with help from technology

New Zealand drivers appear to be more confident on the roads - with help from technology

A report by AMI reveals the insurance company received more than 235-thousand vehicle claims over the past year, with collisions down seven-percent on the year before.

It shows people with safety sensors and cameras in their vehicles reported less driving-related anxiety than those without them.

AMI's Dean MacGregor says it's a bit like having a co-pilot, and helps customers.

He says it can help drivers pick up on blind spots and other cars coming up beside them - which gives them more confidence.
