Two young people have been charged after a fire at a Taupo school

Two young people have been charged after a fire at a Taupo school

Fire crews were called to Taupo-nui-a-Tia College about 2.15 yesterday afternoon, as thick black smoke spread across the town.

The school will be closed for at least today and tomorrow, while the site is assessed.

Taupo Mayor John Funnell says it's devastating for the college, which has a role of more than 11-hundred students.
