A rookie Police constable who leaked sensitive intelligence to her Killer Beez boyfriend has been jailed for corruption

Summer Pearl Moana Smith, admitted she made a terrible mistake, swayed by the gang member's wealth and flashy lifestyle, when she passed on confidential information.

Last week, a court heard Smith could face serious risks in prison, because of her former role.

She had earlier pleaded guilty to corrupt use of official information, accessing a computer for a dishonest purpose, and possession of a Class A drug.

Despite her lawyer's push for home detention, Smith was sentenced to two years and three months behind bars.
