Waikato police have found illegal guns, drugs and sick dogs - after searching a Thames property

With the help of Armed Offenders and an Eagle Helicopter they searched a Kauaeranga Valley Road property this morning, recovered five firearms - including rifles and shotguns.

They also found ten dogs - some of which have had to be put down.

Two men - aged 48 and 51 - have been charged with illegal possession of firearms.

They're also likely to face further charges relating to mistreating animals.
