Hopes New Zealanders have an open mind when voting yes or no at the cannabis referendum

Hopes New Zealanders have an open mind when voting yes or no at the cannabis referendum

People will cast their vote on the Cannabis Legalisation and Control Bill at this year's election.

Cannabis legalisation advocate and Green Party MP Chloe Swarbrick spoke to Newstalk ZB's Marcus Lush last night.

She hopes the experience of the Covid-19 lockdown, and slowing down, helps people look into the issue differently.

She says looking at things from a community and compassionate perspective may enable more people to see the benefit of voting yes.
