A man who pointed a toy gun at a person on Auckland's Karangahape Road last night, was arrested by Police within 10 minutes

He is being charged with carrying an imitation firearm.

Three people were also taken into custody near the Downtown Ferry Terminal, before 1am - after a report a man had been assaulted and his phone taken.

Two men, aged 18 and 21, have been charged with injuring with intent to injure, and are due in court next week.

Police say reports for both incidents were made quickly, allowing frontline staff to respond in a timely manner.
