    Police are considering charges - after armed officers were called to reports people were firing what appeared to be a rifle - in a backyard in Auckland's Manurewa


    An early learning centre near the Sturdee Road property locked down.

    Armed Police found a high-powered air rifle and arrested a 21-year-old man.

    Inspector Danny Meade says it took up valuable Police resources -- and could have been avoided if people thought about the consequences of using an air gun in a built-up area.
