A Coronial inquiry into the accidental death of a Dunedin woman has found she may have survived -- if given the required medical attention

Polly Riddell died in October 2018 -- her partner, Karl Longshaw was sentenced to home detention for neglect of a vulnerable adult last year.

The 40-year-old had struggled with multiple mental health issues, but her circumstances had improved in the year before her death.

Longshaw saw Riddell take her usual medication, but become suspicious she'd taken non-prescription drugs -- which she had done.

He failed to call emergency services until hours after Riddell became unresponsive and died.
