A woman's seriously injured, after allegedly stealing and crashing a vehicle in central Christchurch

Police say the woman fled from Breens Road in Burnside, shortly before midday.

Officers found the car a short time later on Bealey Avenue - and used spikes to stop it.

It then crashed at the intersection of Bealey and Fitzgerald avenues.

    Police are considering laying charges.
