A man who stabbed a police officer in the head on Queen Street has had his sentence shrunk on appeal

A man who stabbed a police officer in the head on Queen Street has had his sentence shrunk on appeal

Open Justice reports Vaughan Elliot Subritzky's seven year term has been decreased to six years and three months.

He pleaded guilty to wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm just three days before his trial started.

Psychologists said the man's longstanding antipathy towards police and past traumatic events were factors in the offending.
