Mobile phone users will have be wary of phone scammers for the foreseeable future

Research by US tech company First Orion has found by next year, almost half of all phone calls will be from scammers.

It's found scammers are moving from email to mobile, because it's cheaper and more effective.

Netsafe chief executive Martin Cocker says mobile phone scams can't be stopped, until we change the way mobiles are registered.

He says stopping mobile scams could be technically possible, once changes are made.
