A warning to expect cyber criminals to do their best to take advantage of Friday's global IT outage

A warning to expect cyber criminals to do their best to take advantage of Friday's global IT outage

Microsoft is estimating 8.5 million computers were disabled, and experts predict it could be weeks before all systems fully recover.

It's believed the outage was triggered by an update from global cybersecurity company CrowdStrike.

IT expert Danu Abeysuirya says there has already been a surge in scam activity, including phishing scams where people are pretending to be support staff from Crowdstrike and Microsoft.
