The Education Minister's giving her report card of New Zealand's school system -- and outlining her plan to turn it around

The Education Minister's giving her report card of New Zealand's school system -- and outlining her plan to turn it around

Erica Stanford's speaking on day two of the National party conference.

She says upon becoming minister the Ministry told her the system was not delivering excellent nor equitable outcomes.

Stanford's also accused Labour of the worst stewardship of education in history -- but promises her Government has the answers.

She says like Transport Minister Simeon Brown builds roads -- she's cleared the road cones, filled the pot holes and set the speeds to 110km in the education system.
