Youth vaping is dropping amongst some age groups

Data from Action on Smoking and Health, reveals daily vaping among Year 10 students has fallen to about seven percent.

Daily vaping for Maori students fell from 20.9 % in 2024 to 16.5 % this year.

Group Chair, Eh-mera-tis Professor Robert Beaglehole says our smokefree effort is a global success story, as youth smoking has almost disappeared, and vaping continues to decrease.
