A young woman is dead and two other people seriously injured after the incident involving a stampede in a Dundas Street flat known as The Manor last night.

Shoes and booze bottles, cans and boxes were strewn on the street outside.

A student, who doesn't want to be named, says he heard heaps of people falling down the stairs and landing on top of the woman.
