Children at Martinborough School in the Wairarapa have been sent home at midday as a staff member has tested positive for Covid-19

Children at Martinborough School in the Wairarapa have been sent home at midday as a staff member has tested positive for Covid-19

The staff member was at school on Tuesday.

Board of Trustees Chairwoman Kirsty Shepherd says following Ministry of Health advice, there's too many close contacts for the school to remain open.

Both St Patrick's College in Silverstream and Petone Central School also have a confirmed Covid-19 case.

The cases at the two schools were both there on Tuesday.
