The Government is taking steps to close the gender pay gap following the Statistics New Zealand figures released today

The Government is taking steps to close the gender pay gap following the Statistics New Zealand figures released today

The figures show a 9.3 percent gender wage gap, almost unchanged from 9.2 percent in 2017.

Minister for Women Julie Anne Genter says a lot of work needs to be done to further close the gap, however she is proud of what they have achieved so far.

Genter says the government are planning to pass equal pay and pay equity this term.
