Police are revealing how much they've forked out trying to find fugitive Tom Phillips and his three children

The four went missing near Marokopa in Waikato in December 2021.

Police say the exact dollar figure spent searching for them wasn't officially recorded until August last year.

Since then they say they've spent 34-thousand-dollars.

However, that doesn't include the cost of personnel, vehicles, and operation of the Eagle Helicopter.

Instead it's mostly from accommodation, meals, and renting equipment.
