The Auckland company sentenced after a roller-door killed a pastor, says the case was a tragedy

The Auckland company sentenced after a roller-door killed a pastor, says the case was a tragedy

Helen Verry was killed, when a 270-kilogram power roller-door fell from its fixing at Church Unlimited in Glendene in early 2022.

Scotty Doors Limited was ordered to pay 200-thousand-dollars in fines and reparations after installing the door with screws which were too short.

The company says it accepts responsibility, and is accepting the court orders.

It says the case was difficult for all involved.
