    Predator control measures in Kahurangi National Park are proving successful


    DOC says ongoing work throughout Heaphy Valley's 25-thousand hectares has resulted in growing numbers of birds and bats.

    Buller District Operations Manager Suvi Van Smit says kiwi have been spotted regularly along the Heaphy Track Great Walk.

    They say call rates have increased, which is a clear sign of rising populations.
