A man accused of attacking a Police dog with a garden trowel is facing court today

A man accused of attacking a Police dog with a garden trowel is facing court today

The 26-year-old old was allegedly spotted by Police, driving a stolen vehicle with false number plates through Auckland's Papatoetoe this morning.

Police say they arrested the passengers but the driver fled the scene.

They say the driver was chased by a Police dog, which he tried to attack with the garden tool, but was bitten in the arm by the dog before being arrested.

The accused will appear in Manukau District Court today.
