Investigators are asking witnesses - after a Wellington Air New Zealand flight to Sydney was diverted to Auckland yesterday

Investigators are asking witnesses - after a Wellington Air New Zealand flight to Sydney was diverted to Auckland yesterday

It says the flight had an engine issue about an hour into its journey.

The Transport Accident Investigation Commission has opened an inquiry - and wants to hear from anyone on board who noticed something unusual.

Today, an Air New Zealand flight leaving Gisborne for Auckland at midday - had to circle back just after leaving, when an engine had to be shut down.
