A Dunedin police dog has been hurt after a stolen car reversed into a dog van

A Dunedin police dog has been hurt after a stolen car reversed into a dog van

Police began following the fleeing driver when an officer reportedly saw him crash into another car at 1.20pm.

Police say the vehicle crashed into other vehicles until turning into a Middleton Road driveway, which police blocked with their vehicles.

A spokeswoman says a man has been arrested after reversing into vehicles, damaging a dog van.

She says the dog doesn't appear to have serious injuries, but needs to be assessed.

A 25-year-old man is due to appear in Dunedin District Court on March 9 on charges including reckless driving..
