A Dunedin man has been reunited with his wallet, 32 years after losing it on a Christchurch beach

A Dunedin man has been reunited with his wallet, 32 years after losing it on a Christchurch beach

The Otago Daily Times reports Nathan Jacquiery received a Facebook message this month to say it had resurfaced, exactly where it had been lost three decades earlier.

He had taken a trip to Corsair Bay with friends before a U2 concert in 1989, and after losing his wallet there, his friends had to fork out money for him during the rest of the trip.

The wallet was found by Corin Hings who was searching the beach using a metal detector, which picked up the coins in the wallet.

He says judging by its condition it could have been lost weeks ago, until he opened it and saw a restricted driver's license dated 1989.
