An unsurprising decline in the number of first-home buyers in the market

An unsurprising decline in the number of first-home buyers in the market

CoreLogic's report for the quarter, reveals the number of people buying their first home, fell by three and a half percent on the second half of last year.

Chief Economist Kelvin Davidson believes the average age of first-home buyers is 35, so there are plenty on the higher side of that.

He says people getting a mortgage later in the life can run into issues, especially when it comes to retirement.

Donaldson says there's a lot of pressures of first-home buyers currently, so isn't shocked by the fall.
